  • 2 chamomile tea bags
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened at room temperature
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 3 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream, cold
  • Chamomile flowers for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. Steep chamomile tea bags in hot water for about 10 minutes.
  3. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  4. Cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients and steeped tea alternately until just combined.
  7. Fill cupcake liners two-thirds full and bake for 12-16 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool on wire racks before frosting with honey buttercream.
