  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté diced bell pepper and onion for about 5 minutes until softened.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until just combined.
  4. Press half the meat mixture into a loaf pan. Layer four slices of provolone cheese and sautéed vegetables on top, then cover with remaining meat mixture.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes; add remaining cheese during the last five minutes.
  6. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
