  • 1 box (13.25 oz) vanilla cake mix
  • â…“ cup neutral oil (vegetable, avocado, or canola)
  • 1 cup milk or water
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 oz candy melts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (162°C). Prepare a baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, oil, milk (or water), and eggs until fully mixed. Pour into the prepared pan and bake until a toothpick comes out clean (about 25-30 minutes).
  3. Once baked, crumble the warm cake into a large bowl.
  4. In another bowl, mix butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth; add to crumbled cake and blend well.
  5. Roll into balls (about 1¼ inches) and chill in the freezer for 15 minutes.
  6. Melt some candy melts and dip the ends of lollipop sticks before inserting them halfway into each ball; freeze again for another 15 minutes.
  7. Fully coat each pop in melted candy melts; let excess drip off before decorating with sprinkles.
  8. Set pops upright in foam or an egg carton until completely dry.
